We thought it would be good to start to collect some of the poetry that our children write in school or at home. We hope you enjoy the wonderful work our children produce.
A WINTER POEM
In winter the leaves are as cold as ice with the branches all frosty and white
The snow is all fluffy and white like clouds
You can see the frosty branches glinting in the sun
All the roofs all thickly covered in shining snow
You can hear the robin sing sweet songs from all over the place
The sun is like a disk of ice in the shimmering sky.

Skiing
Slipping and sliding down the slopes
Black runs, red runs, blue runs and greens
Which run should I choose? There are so many to pick.
Back at our warm chalet safe and dry
Warm and cosy with my family playing some fun games
can't wait till tomorrow, to get back on the slopes

My New Year’s Resolutions
Last Year I was really bad,
This year I’ll be the best,
I’ll remember to tidy my room,
Without even having a rest.
I’ll finish every piece of homework,
And remember to sharpen my pencils,
I’ll even tidy my pencil case,
Without breaking the stencils.
I’ll pay attention to my mum,
Even when she’s cooking,
I won’t steal the cookies,
When my mums not looking.
I’ll try to get a bit fitter,
By running very far,
But so long as I can have,
My daily chocolate bar.
I’ll not do any tricks,
Although they are very fun,
I’ll even change my sister’s nappies,
Because it HAS to be done!
When we are on long journeys (in the boring car),
I will not be sick round all those bends,
But as long as I get to wear,
All the super cool trends.

When I’m an old man I shall wear pink boxer shorts
When I’m an old man I shall wear pink boxer shorts
With a ginger cap that doesn’t go and doesn’t suit me.
I shall spend all my pensions on Stella, hot chocolate and chocolate cake and say we’ve no money for clothes.
I shall sit down like a punk whenever I’m bored
and gobble up all the samples in the shops and press 999 for no reason.
I’ll run around d in private building sites and smash windows for fun.
I shall go out in bare feet in the storm and pick a pocket or two
And learn to burp.
I can wear terrible dresses, grow thicker and eat 5 portions of
burgers in one go or eat chocolate spread for a week.
But I couldn’t practice now
Or could I?.....

Christmas Poem by Caitlin Hevey
Today our school is making a play,
(A very good one I hope you say.)
It’s a story about a lion's ROAR,
He is so mighty and mature.
Exited children come to the park,
To win all the nations hearts.
They’ve been rehearsing day in, day out,
And now’s the day there is no doubt.
Sam as the snake, slithery and slimy,
Beck is the buffalo. He’s enormous, blimey!
Hal is the hyena, laughing away,
Leone’s the lion, strong I’d say.
Now it’s begun the show for real,
We can’t wait until it’s revealed.
The mothers laugh and shout and cheer,
While the dads just sit there drinking beer!
Soon it’s ended with a great big ROAR,
From my friend Leone striding out the door.
I go to mummy; she’s pouring it down,
I hope she’s alright she just needs a sit down!
The teachers say plays are plays are fun,
We will do it again
Now altogether
