Welcome to Class 1
This year Class One has 21 pupils made up of 16 Reception children and the 5 youngest Year 1 pupils. Mrs Helen Greenup teaches the class Monday to Thursday and Mrs Clare Neal teaches the class on Fridays. Tuesday afternoons are covered by Mrs Sharron Highley. The class benefits from full time TA support from Amanda Brockbank.
Class One is a very well-resourced setting catering for the different needs of both our Early Years pupils and those starting in Key Stage One (Year 1). It has a great little playground with access right out of the classroom for the children to use throughout the day, exploring, creating, investigating and continuing their learning outside. Inside, there are writing, maths, reading, phonics, construction, role play, small world, sand and water areas for the children to use during their continuous provision and spaces set aside for quieter and focused adult led activities. Daily Challenges form a large part of our learning, giving the children responsibility for their own learning, independence and focus. Class One is a busy and thriving class where all aspects of learning and achievement are cherished no matter how big or small.
