Online Safety

New technologies have become integral to the lives of children and young people in today’s society, both within schools and in their lives outside school.

The internet and other digital and information technologies are powerful tools, which open up new opportunities for everyone.  These technologies can stimulate discussion, promote creativity and increase awareness of context to promote effective learning.

Through our Computing curriculum we aim to teach children to:

  • use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly
  • recognise acceptable and unacceptable behaviour
  • identify a range of ways to report concerns about content and contact

It is important that school and parents work together to ensure that children are safe online. Below are some useful documents with advice and tips.

In our Weekly Round Up we have an Online Safety Section which highlights specific issues and areas e.g. screen time, different games and apps, PEGI ratings. Please look out for it!

Please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff if you have any concerns or questions.
