Welcome to Staveley CE Primary School

On behalf of the children, staff and Governors, I would like to welcome you to Staveley CE Primary School.

We are very proud of our village school which stands in beautiful grounds surrounded by hills, fields and trees. We have strong links within the local community and we work closely with St James’ Church situated next door to school.

Our Core Christian Values of Friendship, Respect, Compassion, Thankfulness, Courage and Service are at the heart of everything we do and we are committed to developing a love of learning in all our children.

Our School Vision;

We love to learn. We learn to love, embraces loving one another as Jesus loved us. We strive to recognise our flocks' individual gifts and celebrate these gifts in a caring, loving and Christian environment. We aspire to create a community of hope filled, lifelong learners who are empowered to embrace challenge and can influence positive change in the world.

Our curriculum covers the requirements of the National Curriculum as well as offering our children a wide range of experiences including exciting trips and Residential visits, Outdoor and Adventurous Activity Days, Theme Weeks and the use of our extensive grounds.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection – April 2019 recognised this stating that; "Pupils benefit from a rich curriculum that is carefully planned to meet their needs and interests." "The school is a warm, welcoming and positive learning environment where the dedicated staff and Governors work hard to ensure that children are happy, safe and proud to be a part of Staveley Primary School."

We hope the information included on this website gives you a flavour of the special place Staveley CE Primary School is.

If there is anything else you would like to know please do not hesitate to get in touch. If you are a prospective parent we would be happy to take you on a tour, please call the School Office to arrange this.

A lovely way to end SATs week @wilfscafe_staveley thank you so much for having us for lunch. Thank you to @FOSS for picking up the bill! A huge well done to our amazing Year Six children who have approached this week with such resilience, hard work and fun! You have all been brilliant! Thank you to the staff for making this week stress free for the children. ⭐️
We had a lovely time at @hayesgardenworld for our Garden Club trip. We bought herbs, vegetables and plants for our @countryfestcrooklands competition entry! 👍
As part of our Questful RE unit of work ‘Who is God?’, Herdies have been thinking about the different names given to God in the Old Testament. It was fascinating to learn the history of the bible and how our understanding of the Christian God has developed over time.
Great event to fill a sunny Saturday!
Always start the day with a good breakfast! The smiles on these faces say it all - 😊 a really special social time for our children in Year 6 who are taking this week in their stride… did somebody mention SATs?!
Swaledale and Jacob Classes joined together for their science trip to the river. They were treated to a hunting Grey Heron, Pied Wagtails, and Grey Wagtails catching flies to feed their chicks. There was even a Tree Creeper near the weir! Everyone discussed food chains and put the picture versions in the correct order. Thank you as always to our wonderful volunteers ❤️
Jacob Class are having a great day thinking about transport, developing their painting skills and learning all about subtraction in maths.
